Smithsonian CastleSo I’m browsing through my Google Reader and catching up on DCist posts, and I see a really nice photo of the Smithsonian Castle that looks kiiiinda familiar.  Sure enough, it’s a shot I took from the top of the Newseum overlooking the Smithsonain Castle! DCist used it (with permission) on a post on Senators Grassley and Specter submitting a bill that would bring the Smithsonian under FOIA.

I’m going to have to work on my reaction; if any of my roommates were home, they would have been awoken with me shouting “DUDE! Fuckin yeah!” as I scrolled down the post. :-D

“Gus”

New pony at the farm (again). It’s like a revolving door at Hornet’s Hill :-)

Gus is an older Arabian pony, jet black with a mane longer than you’d believe (or can see in most of these since they’re in black and white). Difficult to shoot some of these cause it was mid-day, and Gus’ dark coat really messes with the metering, but had some fun with the post-processing to give them an older look…

Atari Dissembled

Atari Dissembled

Something I’ve been playing around with for a bit now. I took this great shot of Atari, the latest horse to move into Hornet’s Hill, and my photography teacher wanted to see it with just the ears…or just the eyes…or just the nose. So I did all three and matted them, and it turned out great.
